At Limitless Church, we believe that life change happens best when we connect as a community.  City Groups are the “Light” of our church, meaning that we carry the Gospel of Jesus Christ wherever we go in the world. Our Sunday morning gatherings and Wednesday night services are essential lifelines to the believer, but the bridge to continued spiritual growth and the ability to fulfill the Great Commission will happen through City Groups. City Groups are more than just bible studies. A City Group is a place where you can build relationships and enjoy true fellowship with other believers just as the early church did in the Book of Acts.

LIVE. LEARN. SERVE.

 LIVE

We are intentional about forming relationships with one another.  When you fellowship with other believers during the week in small, friendly settings, you build trust with others and form relationships that go far beyond the four walls of the church.

LEARN

We are intentional about learning how to read Scripture and interpret God’s Word. We believe all Scripture is God-breathed, and must be allowed to be the blueprint for our lives. Each time we look at the Word of God, we look for key words in the text, to better understand the context of what the author is writing, and determine the application for our everyday lives.

 SERVE

We are intentional about sharing our faith with others. As we experience Christ’s love, we ought to be compelled to engage those around us with that same unfailing, redemptive love.  Each City Group will have various opportunities to share this love through outreach events across the metroplex.

CITY GROUPS FAQ

WHAT IS A CITY GROUP?

Our city groups at Limitless Church are small groups of up to 15 people who meet regularly to LIVE together through fellowship with other believers, LEARN together through the study of Scripture and related curriculum and SERVE the community around us.  We believe that life change happens best in circles and not in rows.

WHAT DOES DISCIPLESHIP MEAN?

Simply put, discipleship is following Jesus Christ. All of our groups are centered around making disciples by observing Jesus’ charactermission and life and applying those principles to our daily lives.

HOW DO CITY GROUPS START AT LIMITLESS CHURCH?

Several ways. Sometimes people in the church will express an interest in having a group for a specific age/stage or need that is not already being reached.  Other times, the ministry leaders will sense a need for another group to be planted. We will then train leaders, open the group up for members to join and launch group meetings.

WHAT DOES IT MEAN TO PARTICIPATE IN A CITY GROUP?

To be an active participant in a City Group, group members will prepare for and attend group meetings faithfully.  A healthy member pursues relationships with other group members outside of the regular meeting times and is an active participant in outreach events.

WHO LEADS THE GROUPS?

City Groups are led by members of the church who have received small group training and who continually receive oversight and support by the various pastoral staff and ministry leaders.

WHAT MAKES UP THE CONTENT OF GROUP DISCUSSIONS?

Content varies by group needs and desires and can be Bible Study focused, sermon-based or centered around a group-friendly curriculum.  All groups focus on the power of prayer and fellowship within the body of Christ.

HOW SMALL ARE CITY GROUPS AND WHAT HAPPENS WHEN THEY GET TOO LARGE?

Our hope is to keep groups between 10-12 people. Some groups are larger and others are smaller. When a group grows to 15 people, we will seek to launch another group with some of the original group’s members.  This helps to maintain closeness and unity without being overwhelmed by the number of people in one group.

WHEN WILL A GROUP BE CLOSED?

Groups generally close when they get too large.  In the event of a group being filled, your name will be put on a waiting list and you will either be added to a group based on leader-discretion or have a chance to join when another group is launched.

HOW OFTEN ARE GROUPS LAUNCHED?

City Groups are split into two semesters (February-May, August-December). New groups will be launched at the beginning of each semester based on need.

WHAT DOES IT TAKE TO LEAD A GROUP?

A group leader must be committed to personal growth in faith and willingness to sacrifice their time for the betterment of the Body of Christ. Each leader is required to go through training and be in faithful attendance to ministry-related events.  If you are interested in leading a City Group, please contact the church office at office@limitlesspeople.org.
